Amid the Private Credit Sector Scrutiny, Wingate's Senior Debt Fund Retains 4-Star (Superior) Rating from SQM Research
SQM Research (SQM) has reaffirmed Wingate Senior Debt (WPSD) Fund’s 4-star (Superior) rating, this endorsement follows SQM’s recent public announcement that it would be placing the private credit sector on ‘watch’ amid increased scrutiny across the sector.
Retaining the 4-star (Superior) rating reflects the quality and performance of the Fund, which now exceeds $200m in funds under management[1].
WPSD invests in senior secured property loans with conservative loan-to-value ratios across all real estate asset sectors. The Fund has outperformed the SQM Reference Index, as well as its peers, across the reporting timeframe.
Nick Jacobson, Managing Director of Wingate, said, “The reaffirmation of a 4-star (Superior) rating underpins the strength of our investment approach, the discipline of our risk management framework and the trust we have built with our co-investors over the last two decades. We welcome increased regulatory oversight across the sector.”
As the private credit landscape continues to evolve, Wingate remains committed to maintaining rigorous investment standards with a focus on capital preservation and delivering strong risk-adjusted returns to its co-investor base. The reaffirmed rating from SQM is a testament to Wingate’s strong track record over two decades of time-tested investing, and its ongoing alignment with co-investors’ interests.
